Consignor Newsletter
EDISON

Edition 2 Volume 6
Week of September 26, 2011

REMINDER: The deadline to have your items entered into thye system is 11:59pm on Sunday, Oct 2nd. Please make a note of this  date/time. You may still print tags after the deadline, but edits or new items may not be entered.

INVENTORY TRANSFER: Flemington consignors are able to transfer unsold items to your Edison account. You will not need to print new tags unless you are changing anything (i.e. price, discount option etc.). Click HERE to read about consigning at multiple sales.

REMEMBER!

  • All Clothing needs to be hung on wire hangers. Fall/Winter items ONLY! – find wire hangers at your local dry cleaners.
  • Mark items with your consignor id#. This will enable us to look up and sell your item if the tag falls off.
  • If you make changes to an item, especially changes to the price, half price option or donate option, you MUST print a new tag to update the barcode. No handwritten changes.
  • NO CRIBS MANUFACTURED BEFORE JUNE 28, 2011!
  • Deadline to enter/print tags is SUNDAY, October 2nd at 11:59pm!
  • If you are picking up items on Sunday, October 9th, you must have all of your items out of the building by 1pm. Plan enough time to gather your things from the sales floor. — more information on pick up in the newsletter next week.
  • Pre sale passes (wristbands) are 1 per person.
  • Remember that WE ARE NOT SORTING items for pick up. If you are picking up, it is a good idea to mark you things in such a way that they “POP at PICK UP“! Some ideas I saw in Flemington were tying string or ribbon around the necks of the hangers or using painters tape or colored labels around the neck of your hanger.

Consignor Do’s and Don’ts…

DO- Inspect your items carefully to avoid disappointment at drop off. Use natural lighting to look for stains on clothing. Double-check that toys are working and items requiring batteries have them installed.

DON’T – Bring spring/summer items to the fall sale. Short sleeve shirts are ONLY allowed if they have a collar. The only exception is fall holiday short sleeve shirts (i.e. Halloween, Christmas etc.).

DO – Consider volunteering a shift or two during the sale. Volunteers earn a higher percentage and get to shop the pre sale earlier than anyone else! Click HERE to view available shifts.

DON’T –Wait for the last minute to start entering items. Remember, the deadline for entering/printing tags is 11:59 pm Sunday, October, 2nd! Click Here to begin entering your items.

DO – Start now to clean out the closets, drawers and toy chests. Give yourself plenty of time to gather, prep and enter for the sale!

DON’T – Use packing tape or scotch tape on book covers or game/puzzle boxes (it will destroy the box when removed). Instead use masking (painters) tape when attaching tags to anything with paper or cardboard.

Preparing Items

All clothing (except onesies/socks/tights) should be hung on a wire hanger (adult or child-size). Please see these pictures for specifics:

Pants should be attached to the hanger like in this picture. Be sure to pin the pant to the shoulder of the hanger (not the bottom) to minimize slipping and movement. Do NOT hang the pants over the bottom of the hanger.
This picture shows the best way to hang 2 pieces on a single hanger. First, hang the shirt on the hanger. Second, attach the pants to the back of the hanger (not the shirt). If you are hanging 2 pairs of pants to one hanger, pin one the front and one to the back. Hanging 2 shirts on hanger can be accomplished by hanging one shirt, turning the hanger backwards and pinning the shirt to the hanger on the back (i.e. pinning through the shirt on to the hanger)
  • Books can be sold individually or as a set. You can bag several books (recommended) or tie the books together with string or ribbon.
  • Make sure to securely attach all accessories, parts, etc. to toys and other items by placing them in a baggie and then taping the baggie securely to the item you are selling. SEAL ALL YOUR BAGS!

Pricing

Most people price items at about 1/4-1/3 the original retail. For detailed pricing information. Click Here for ideas >>> Pricing_Spreadsheet
